DIY bike (not mess) bags?
Does anyone have or know where I can find patterns for DIY saddle and handlebar bags?
I'm looking for something fairly big for distance/unsupported rides like Carradice and Acorn make. As beautiful as they are, I don't have $200 to drop on bike bags. The Great Gazoogle only seems to know about little wedge bags, panniers, and a couple of mods to existing bags.
Thanks Team!

My roommate made some earlier this fall. He didn't make a pattern, but the design was pretty simple. He took a look at a few of the panniers that you can buy off-the-shelf and copied them pretty close.
His made his with a canvas outer and the classic 'truck-tarp' inner. It's worked pretty well for him in light rain, and if/when I get into touring I'll try something like that.

theres a post in endurance racing at the mtbr forums: https://forums.mtbr.com/showthread.php?t=363190
this link might take you there, but theres company Carousel Design Works that makes cool stuff and the handlebar bag looks simple and useful. appears to be a light weight drybag with straps, check it out.

There's a page here but the pics are pooched. I've emailed the author to let him know.

A old bag and making one of these mounts may be easy to do.

I was looking at that one Dijos. Looks like a mod of a surplus bag. I was thinking about doing something similar.
However, since you bumped it...
I actually found this one, which looks about perfect.

Now all I have to do is convince Mom to make me one!

Lynn is just getting started but she's a genious with a sewing machine and I know she's wanted to make bags like that.
