Make Stuff rom a Tire/Tube
I'm just about to replace a tire, but before I hang it up on a nail where all the other used up rubber bicycle stuff goes I thought I'd check out bike forums to see if there was anything I could make with all the raw material.
I've heard of people making wallets and belts, does anybody have any other ideas?
Links to threads and Web sites would be helpful.
Here's an example of what I'm looking for. It provides pictures and step-by-step instructions. I just don't want a belt.

I've heard that you can make nice grips for things out of inner tubes. Handles on tools, bar ends, whatever you want. I know it's not a tire, but it's along the same lines.

Bar wrap and chainstay protectors come to mind and my friend redid the seat on his old 'bent by weaving old tubes into the seat rather than but new webbing and have to say that it is really comfortable.

I think Pedro makes seat bags from inner tubes. Pedro might be more talented than the average cyclist.

Head support for Shermers neck
Shim for light/computer/pump clamp that might be a bit big.
Strap for holding things to a rack.
gasket making material.
makeshift rubber bands
I have taken a valve off one and soldered it into an old fire extinguisher to make one heck of a squirt gun (with a noise that will scare the crap out of anyone down range as well).
I'll post more if I remember them but inner tubes are almost as useful as duct tape.
