Yesterday, hubby and I worked the main rest stop for the Santa Rosa Cycling Club's annual Wine Country Century. What a blast! 2500 riders, including members of our forum and the NorCal forum. And I got to meet our very own Curtis (in the Campbell's Full of Beans jersey). I would not have met him were it not for the pair in his group wearing the 50+ jerseys. Great fun! It was a sea of bikes and colorful jerseys. (Never saw a "tridem" before! And loved that leopard handlebar tape.) And the weather was gorgeous.

The Santa Rosa Cycling Club rocks. I could not believe how organized everyone was - like a well-oiled machine. And super nice, too! I kept hearing from riders how much they appreciated all the food and great support. SRCC is putting on a club ride next Saturday for all the volunteers. Can't wait! Thank you SRCC; you did a fantastic job!

By the way, just got back from a 30 miler. Feels great to be back in the saddle again. Between sore backs and weekends with family, it's been a couple weeks since we took a decent ride. I believe that riding actually made my back feel better!

It was indeed a great ride. I love the route, and the support was grand. Even the weather was perfect.
The only downside: Riding past a zillion wineries and not stopping at one of them.

Great to meet TruF as well. I felt guilty for not flying the 50+ flag, but you know, you gotta wear all your jerseys or they get jealous.

Are you going to ride it next year? Riding makes my back feel better, usually.

Great pics, cccorlew! What fun. Northern California sure has some great cycling. I had no idea until we started riding last year, and I've lived in the SF Bay Area just about all my life. There's a wonderful saying I recall from my horsebackriding days. It goes something like: Every day looks better when looking between the ears of a horse. We need to come up with a similar expression for riding bikes.

I recognize Ron (spingineer). He comes to LA sometimes and I have ridden with him.

We'd like to ride it next year. Maybe the 100K instead of the 100M, though.

Ah! A "tandem refers to the arrangement of the riders one behind the other rather than the number of riders." So that three-person bike is called a triple or triplet tandem. Thanks, Wikipedia!

Being Curtis's 1st lieutenant, I was intructed to wear the 50's flag along with my Sergeant, So General Corlew's brigade could easily bush wack and lay waste our younger opponents. I hope this clarifies the strategic operation in the wine fields.

And on such an important ride as this- It ought to be the "50+" Jersy or nothing.

So expect to see a naked rider wobbling all over the road on the next ride.

Only an observation- But why did you need the "Extra" wide Porta Loo?
