Bob Jackson yard sale find.
Hey I came across a bob jackson at yard sale, I don't know much about them but I thought this bike was gorgeous. I can't make much out on the tags other then "Prodotti Lameagmolo Speciali" "O.M.A.S Italy" and "Reynolds England 531" The serial on the bottom says 13473
It's big for me, 22.5 inch frame and I usually use a 21.5 inch frame. But I bought it anyway for 10 dollars, 10 dollars I oddly enough found at a beach moments before the yard sale.
I threw on some cheap rims off an old Norco, bought a new chain and within hours was riding it. I just had a blast around the city on it. I really enjoy the bigger frame.
Any information or tips on restoring it would be great, no idea how old it is.

Are those decals really reversed or did you do the old "take pic in a mirror" routine?

Not that long ago, while picking up a different bike, I saw a Bob Jackson move in a sale. It was much much more (By powers of magnitude) expensive than what you paid.
I would say you got an outstanding deal.
What is the component group on it?

I would say you got a nice bike there. Bob Jackson is a well regarded English builder and turned out some outstanding work.
Wait until you see one of the NEON Pink ones! Everyone of those I have seen were Campy grouped though.......it helps take the sting out of the Pink, lol.

Probably built up from a frameset, and maybe it once had matching wheels, doesn't now. What part is O.M.A.S., the BB?
Seems like you should treat it and yourself to a nice matched wheelset with Shimano 600 hubs, since you stole that bike for $10

10 dollars!? I just dropped 100 at Container Store and I don't even know what I got.
Tell me what city this yard sale was in and I'll move there. I might be able to pack using something I got at the Container Store.
Wow. Enjoy!

My point was that you do not have to ruin anything. Just remove one chainring (buy some some shorter BMX chainring bolts), get a new fixed wheelset and remove the clipons and screwons and you are ready to
go. This looks to be a frame from the late seventies so it might even have room for studded tires. (My 73 Crescent 531 frame has). Riding a fixie in winter is fun !

I'll would the OP a bike to convert to fixtie in trade just so I can still sleep at night. There should be a rule about what builders should not be turned into a fixtie.
Maybe, just maybe if you didn't cut anything off and made it a fixtie. Still sort of like turning a race horse into a plow horse though.

I'm going to do as unworthy1suggested and look into a nice wheel set. I'm currently bidding on 600 hubs.
Bob Jackson refinishes frames, I'm not about to mail it to England but I am going to clean it up with a new seat and barwrap today at the very least. Maybe look into refinishing it in the future.

Bob Jackson serial numbers are noted by them, I think for a fee they will advise you. From the graphics I would say 1972 to 1974, my best guess 1973.
Most of the imports were framesets, a shop who would import them, would also build them up, so anything goes.
If you lie this bike for size and assuming the saddle height is the same as your other bike(s) reference the length from the saddle to the bars, perhaps a longer stem on that bike is in order and or you like the bars higher on this one.
