everything is original. Let me know if you guys want more information on her. I love this bike. have been riding her for the past year and i'm only loving her more as the days go on.

I understand she is dirty and needs a thorough cleaning. She needs new cables, housings, chain and pads. Once I have the funds i will do a full maintenence. I also have plans to restore her in the near future. This this frame completely chrome under the paint or only at the rear stays and fork?

Giubilato was originally in Turin Italy, and marketed Sannino and Ganna frames.
The shop was reported to have closed ( or moved to Germany) but I found a current website (I think

The bikes are all labeled either DUKE or Ganna but the company is Giubilato

P.S. what kind of tubing sticker is that? Columbus SL? Aelle?

Lotek! thank you! I have tried to find as much inforamtion about the company as possible. I emailed Ganna for decals and some history behind the frame but did not get an answer back! Needless to say, I was dissapointed.

The tubing is Columbus Aelle. I'm guessing it's a basic steel frame. I was also told it was an entry level road bike with entry component groupo (victory)

This is the next closest thing to my bike. Same grouppo and what appears to be even the same paint color!

Aelle was Columbus' 'budget' tubeset. Aelle was plain guage Manganese Moly as opposed to Chrome Moly of the more expensive SL and SP butted tubes. Aelle R was a later version that was
butted. Aelle tubing was cold drawn tubing which I believe meant it could be brazed faster
(less temperature sensitive than the SL or SP tubing). Aelle was used on mid level bikes, including
entry level racing frames, bikes made with aelle tubing generally were outfitted in good solid
mid tier components (i.e. the Victory gruppo).
It's very interesting that in the 80's Bicycle Guide ran a blind test of bikes made with 7 various
tubesets from Reynolds and Columbus' best, down to I believe the Aelle and Reynolds 501 levels and
not one tester could discern a significant difference in the ride of the bikes.

I was extremely cautious with the sand!

Aelle was carbon-manganese not manganese-molybdenum (MnMo). The latter is basically equivalent to chromium-molybdenum (CrMo). MnMo and CrMo require a lower and more finely controlled brazing temperature. Carbon-manganese withstands the higher temperatures of automated brazing without significant loss of strength and thus as better suited for mass production. However, in the end, it is not quite a strong as CrMo or MnMo, though it's closer to these two than it is to hi-tensile steel.

i have two giubilatos nice bikes. This one has Miche, campy, and modolo with Mavic gp4 tubulars (aelle tubing) OF all my bikes this one is the lightest.




This one is one of my favourites mainly because of the pure Italian bling with the colours. Also has tubulars but the bike is all Campy Victory, the red saddle is a Concor. I do have some decals that i got from Giubilato company (yes, as someone mentioned they make Ganna bikes. I also have some Ganna stickers):



EDIT: Both bikes are fully chromed and the red, white and green one is columbus sl.

You were able to get original decals from the giubilato company?!?! Did you email the Ganna bike company for them? I would love to do this myself. Please help!

Terrors. I dont' exactly know if my frame is completely chromed. What do you think? I do believe they are though judging by teh rear stays. Would companys only partially chrome a frame?


Also, your bikes are georgous! I always wanted to know who the owner was of that italian schemed giubilato!

You may find that even if all chrome, they only polished to a high sheen the portions left exposed (forks & stays)

I am only going by the scratches on my bikes, what i see underneath on the top tubes of both bikes is chrome (but as mentioned by bob barker it is not polished). Also under the scratches on the seat stays on the 'tri-colore'. Both bikes are 56cm btw. Thanks for the comments.
