Breaking news. Performance honors coupons.

I just recd a Performance coupon from the local bike swap that Performance was attending. I asked what the deal was about them supposedly not offering coupons anymore and they said that someone posted a bogus coupon on the net that they weren't honoring. I'm not really sure what that means because if the code works, it works, but anyway, that's kinda unimportant. The important thing for you to know is that yes, they are still doing coupons. Here is what you need to know:

Save Now! 20% off your total purchase of $50 or more. Excludes bicycles. Maybe used with the 10% bicycle coupon. On the same coupon is 10% off any bicyle purchase. Offer good only at retail stores. May be used with the 20% non-bicycle coupon.

3 easy ways to shop.

Retail - Coupon must be surrendered at time of purchase.
Phone - Give the operator the coupon code.
Internet - Enter coupon code at the bottom of the checkout page.

Small print - Offer good on any sale or non-sale total purchase. Coupon for ONE TIME use only. Good only on in stock merchandise. Sorry, no rainchecks. Coupon must be surrendered at time of purchase in retail stores. Coupon cannot be combined with Team Performance discounts or gift certificates. Coupons cannot be used to purchase Team Performance membership, pay for renewal fees, or purchase gift certificates. Does not apply to shipping, handling, and/or sales tax. No photocopies.

Coupon Code - 6000404. Offer expires 11/20/04

I didn't check for spelling mistakes above, but I'm sure you will forgive me. Glad I could give back to those that gave in the past or were in need of a coupon... just like me!

Can I use this 20% off coupon, combine it with the 10% off team performance, and apply my performance coupons I've earned over the year? If so, I've got my eye on that powertaps...

You can use both coupon and website Team points on the same (website) order, and you will get new performance points for the subtotal after discounts. If you mean paper coupons, those can only be used in stores or for catalog orders through the mail, as far as I know.

Yes, Performance will apply the 20% coupon after a price match.

FYI I just tried to place an order w/ performance and I had them pricematch an item, and then asked for the coupon code discount and they told me that they could not do it. Sucks....

You try over the phone or online?

I always place the order online and use the coupon. Later I send them an email asking for a pricematch. It has never failed for me. Done it 5 times or so.

I spoke with them on the phone. I spoke with 3 different people, spent over an hour on the phone. Then will either 1. price match or 2. give you 20% off, I went ahead and ordered a set of panniers and saved 51 bucks, but no such luck on the headlight, I thought I'd get a swingin' deal 470 PM'd to 370, then 20% off would have been sweeeet.

Well I'm really not at all surprised that they won't apply coupons on top of price matches. By doing the price match they're just saying they'll equal the other guy, not saying they'll do that AND go 20% lower. (Though you should get 10% off in Team points) Sounds like some people have been able to get around that by clever use of the website ordering system.

You know, trying to take advantage of their generosity is the exact reason why coupons aren't going to be around. There is usually no cheaper way to buy bike stuff than being a TeamP and a 20% coupon. Then some people just start demanding more.

It's not generousity... it's coupons! They know full well what the deal is when they issue coupons. They're meant to be taken advantage of. Otherwise, they wouldn't issue them.

Word, girlfriend!

I used 6000404 for 20% and ~2500 team points on an order yesterday. Web checkout looked good, email receipt looked good, charge to my debit card looked good today as well. All good!!

Damn, I did it again. $83 coupon. Performance owns me. I'll be watching my credit card closely.

Bikes: Selling my Ellsworth

Anyone having problems with overnight orders? I'm pretty much fed up with them. This is my 7th order that i wanted overnited and never arrived the next day. All previous were 2-3 days late and the current order was placed Monday15th and i dont even have a charge to my cc. Performance alwasy came up with a lame-ass excuse and this time they're saying my credit card is not authorizing the purchase. Called cust.service of cc and asked what the f is going on. They said everything was fine and peachy.

This past friday was supposed to go for a probably last ride(Blue Mountain, NY) of this season. Temp was 62' it was a beautiul day. Too bad i couldnt ride since my new crank never arrived. And is it just me or most if not all parts and clothes that performance has on sale is always out of stock?! First i've noticed this last year and when the sale ended, items miraculosly appeared back in stock.
Allright, i will shut up now and place my last order till the coupon expires.

From what I gather, Performance doesn't make any particular effort to guarantee that your package is out
the door any quicker with "overnight" or "2nd-day" shipping selections. Basically the clock doesn't seem to
start ticking for them until everything is finally packed in the box and it gets to the dock for shipping.
I don't count on anything arriving on a particular day with Performance. Their ordering/stocking system
is just a bit too screwy these days. That said, I always select US mail for shipping and my orders get to Hawaii
pretty quick.

Out of perhaps 15 orders in the past year, ordered with 2 day shipping, I think one didnīt arrive in 2 days. That one took 3.
