Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I guess I'll be checking the race in a couple of weeks.
I'm surprised that Lance is racing here though. I thought he was supposed to support Heras in the Vuelta.

Tell your friends. I heard that he spoke to a HUGE crowd of 150 people in NY. I would like to see more professional cycling live more often so please show up.

Heck, I'll be there. I've already downloaded the route map and am strategizing on photo op positions.

Good to hear Stuart. Hey bring any friend whose even heard of the Tour de France or Lance Armstrong. Professional racing is really fun to watch. The last one I saw was the 1988 Coors Classic with Andy Hampsten and his 7-11 team.

Its different than the local cat 1 races. There is much more action if you know what you are looking for.

So he is riding in S.F. That's good for US cycling in general but I hope it doesn't cause problems on his team. I too had heard that he'd support Heras' attempt to repeat at the Vuelta. Sort of quid pro quo for Heras joining US Postal.

Bikes: Trek 4500

Yeah, that would be interesting turn of events if he didn't go see him. I always thought he was a man of honor, but maybe the circumstances weren't right, or for whatever reason. Team mates are quite important, ya know.
