I don't know why you guys are always bagging on the aero frames. They look fast and they feel fast. You just stated that there is a real and marked difference in performance and there is also a real and marked difference in how it feels. A lot of us ride bikes because we like the sensation of going fast so why would you knock a bike a guy for riding a bike that increases that? This part of the reason that a lot of us have a preference for bikes that a too small for the correct fit. Is that also ridiculous? Do you make fun of people that drive sports cars? Are we all tolerant of the RBSO's in the beamers but the guy in the hotrodded lancer is driving a transformer? I don't get it.

Hey man, don't get bummed. i just think they look silly, and impractical, on the street. That's just my opinion. Also, I must point out, a few years ago, the usual jackass on an aero transformer bike was a person who had the $ to buy one, but was usually a novice, trying to be more "extreme" than everyone else. Know what I mean?

I'd drive a 911 or an NSX if it were free.

I think a vintage Vette or a Stingray, those don't look out of place to me, on the street. But what if you took one like this:
Now that would be a silly daily driver, wouldn't it?

What is the difference? It isn't as though you can put your groceries in a stingray and it is a pita to get it serviced, or fixed if it gets bumped. Talk about impractical carbon fiber.

I wasn't judging, the exact opposite if you re read my post.
They are awesome for what you do.
They aren't my thing. I'd never ride it because I ride bikes in a different way. I like upright bikes that I can thrash about on. Wheelies and curbs and general farting around. I appreciate what the high tech bikes are, the best of the best for their intended use. But my passions are at the other end of the spectrum.
You are serious about training and racing. For me, my biking is like playing.

Also, forgot that you rode an FTP @prooftheory, my bad haha. I still think you're a cool dude, even if you ride a track bike on the street You're in good company here. There's nothing wrong with it if brings you sustainable, safe fun - I just think it's a little silly

I would love the newest Vette, for a track car!!! Daily driver, not so much. And, my penis still works just fine, in case you needed to know.

I wasn't accusing you of judging, just of being crazy for not taking a high end bike for free! Did I read that correctly???

I felt silly a lot more often before, when it was my only bike.

Well, I took the carbon transformer bike out on an easy little 12 mile spin this morning because I wanted to ride it before Saturday's race - make sure it was in good working order and to practice with it. I've been riding fixed all week and while it's SRAM, I've been riding Campy lately, so it was kinda practical, though I do feel silly sometimes when I dawdle along on it.
