Am I Missing Something, or...?
...is this a total RIP-OFF? Is this person totally high, or am I not seeing something? I mean, granted the parts are "high end-ish" and they've apparently only been used a handful of times, but, really?, they're 6 YEARS OLD. It's called depreciation.

Dude told his wife that it is worth $3000 so she would lay off him for spending $2000 on the bike. Now the baby is coming and she wants him to sell it and get something cheaper but the dude doesn't really want to sell it. It's a whole drama.

However, in such a scenario, I can honestly say for me, it will be a cold day in hell when my wife starts telling me how to spend my own (hard earned) cash. Or to sell my bikes. Just sayin...

In addition, when it comes to babies vs. bikes, I'll wear twelve condoms...at the same time...just to ensure I can buy more bikes.

The dude's wife is actually the one with the money since she's a project manager and he's only a software documentation specialist. He's kind of itching to be the stay-at-home dad, because he thinks he'll have time to write his novel. Unfortunately for him the kid has severe autism and he'll end up being the care-taker for the rest of his life and never get to the novel. Kind of sad.

Don't buy the bike. The dude needs it. Those long rides are the only time he gets to himself without feeling guilty about leaving his son behind, because he's at least keeping himself in shape.

You guys that post stuff from SF are out of touch with reality.
The price of living is so crazy town there that I actually had an online "friend" (really a kid I played games with) from SF tell me he'd just give me 5k cash to buy him a play off ticket.
If I was a real ****** I could have robbed him blind. I didn't.
