Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Hey OP, if this is just a road conversion get yourself the Sugino RDs. Worry about the pista stuff when you step up into an actual track bike. Also, RDs need a JIS taper 103mm spindle (Miche and Campy are ISO, not JIS). I know cause I have a set. Just get yourself the matching Sugino 103mm BB (or, I found one made by a company called IRD) and you should get a correct chainline. I've seen both these BBs on eBay at one time or another. Both were about $30. The Soma site has the IRD one but it's overpriced.

....ummm, this thread is over almost 4 years old. I'm sure the OP has moved past this problem.
