Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I hate cops. Like high school jocks that never grew up.
Evidently they hate you more. To the tune of $410.

jeebus...where did that happen? I've blown through reds all over Austin - in front of cops - the whole bit - not one of them has given me grief. Campus cops however.......

from halcyon coffee going north up on Lavaca either past 8th or 9th... last last summer @ 9pm (way afterwork hour + way before partying hours = nobody on the streets)

it wasnt even a cop.. it was a goddamn state trooper

ps. did i mention i had full lights (front and rear), helmet, and clean record? the only way i could have looked less threatening and lawless was if i had elbow pads and reflective mesh jersey

we were just talking about cambridge cops the other day

https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespeed-fixed-gear/103718-bike-cop-awe.html

definitely look into the stuff about brakes, because i got out of a small fine in cambridge by showing them i could stop.
