So I have a decent rear wheel with 120mm spacing along with a bunch of other SS parts from a sw8 fixie conversion years ago and I'd like to hang them on a frame with some decent tire clearance for off road jaunts. A Steamroller would be my first choice but I've been watching Craigslist for months and I haven't seen anything within a few hundred miles of me in my size (56ish). A new Steamroller frame and fork is like $430 new and that's a lot of scrilla for me right now, especially for a janky mismatched parts bike. Has anybody messed with an On-One Pompino? I've searched and studied some builds and other than having weird sizing and toe overlap issues (again, probably due to improper sizing) it seems like a solid enough frame. Both the Surly and the Pomp appear to be Taiwanese double butted 4130 frames with 120 spacing and decent clearance, but it looks like I can get a Pomp for like $206. Tell me why I shouldn't. Please.

No reason not to. I have one as my race it on Sunday, commute it on Monday SSCX bike. It's not the lightest, but it's well made and has touches like a chain hanger and bosses for fenders and racks. It's a great value bike, imo.

Pompino has canti studs. Steamroller doesn't. Motobecane Jury is another wide tire so frame that could work for you.

Oh I forgot about the Jury. They don't have any in my size at the moment but they do have a Mercier Kilo WT that I didn't know existed. OPTIONS. I like em.

Kilo OS is another wide tire SS frame to consider. I looked at the same set of frames before getting a chrome jury a few months ago.

There are others, but they will be at least as expensive as the steamroller.

I can't speak to quality or anything about the Onone but I can say no bosses but canti bosses. I am loving my Fixed Gear RandoCross Cinelli Work and it is running cantis and I have a wee little rack at the front mounted to those bad boys so I can put a rando bag at the front and a dynamo light. Freakin' shaweet.

I have its evil twin, the Pompetamine, as my sscx frame, and love it. Same geo as the Pompino, but adds disc brake mounting tabs and 135mm rear spacing. Not sure what you intend to use yours for, but given the desire for more tire clearance and offroad jaunts, definitely recommend it over the normal Pompino if you plan on having any serious sscx action.

Oh, no but I got mine used in like-new condition on Craigslist just a couple months ago, for like $120. So if you see one, jump on it!

Also you're right about the sizing, I'm 5'6" and it's a medium -- if I were to buy new I might have went with small, but this one fits me great and doesn't have toe overlap issues at all, so pretty happy about that.
