bicycle co-op in nyc?

I have been slowly gathering all the parts for my dream fixed - really i dream about it - but i don't want to buy a stand and all the tools and more importantly i need help. i really want to try and build it up from scratch. is there any place in nyc, like a co-op, where you can rent the space and the tools and ask a few questions while i try to get this bike out of my dreams and into my - no, not cars. hates them.

time's up- not all of the fancy tools but if you know basically what you're doing it's a good place. try thursday nights 6-8. they have people there to help and stuff. i was doing it but now my work schedule prevents it.
