track stem for 1 1/8" threadless?
Hi - I am putting together a new track frame and would like to use a nitto -25 degree stem (gotta love those old school track stems). Problem is this frame has a 1 1/8" threadless head tube - is there any way around this? Or am I stuck with a 1 1/8" threadless fork and clamp on stem? Any help is appreciated. . .

1. Chris King devolution headset
2. Headtube reducers.
but then you'd be stuck with a 1" threadless fork and stem

Others just flip high rise stems to make em deep drop. Theres a good thread on this here:

Theres definitely not a cheap way to use a 1" quill stem on a 1 1/8" threadless set up. You're better off excepting your fate unless you have a lot of spare cash.

the deda newton pista stem has an oversized clamp, so you would have to run their new oversized bars as well. the deda magic road stem has a fairly deep drop as well.
is this desired drop for form or function? do you have bars yet? you could just get a deeper track bar... such as the 3ttt, modolo or nitto b127 track bars. woodman makes a 17 degree drop road stem with a 26.0 clamp dia. that's fairly deep for a road stem. their site has the images for the 0 and the 17 swapped... but you get the idea.

I looked at the Chris King Devolution headset - it looks like it would make a 1" fork work but it would still have to be threadless (unless I'm reading that wrong). Thanks for all the replies - looks like the best bet is to get a steep rise and turn it upside down. thanks again. . . .
