Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

baxterfer...funny you should say that...I was out for a quick ride to the grocery store just now and smelled the most disgusting smell...smelled like Sewer....I guess I must have made some weird face at the smell, and a homeless guy asked me what was wrong...

I said just that, "Toronto stinks"
He said "WORD" and kept walking..

Vancouver is beautiful and Toronto does smell really bad, especially in the k-market in the summer. My least favorite part, worse even than the smell, are those swirling grime clouds that get kicked up whenever I seem to walk down spadina. There I am, minding my own business, and all of a sudden - voila - garbage tornado. So, so, so gross. I've never had that happen in Vancouver, although I'm sure east hastings has some sweet grime-related natural phenomena of its own.

Are a lot of people riding fixed in Vancouver now? I didn't see any when I was there in March.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only guy from Halifax on this forum.
