definitely! since i don't have to have my feet in the exact same position everytime i skid (meaning there are a couple of inches of variety in where my feet actually need to be) there is about 3 inches on my tire where it takes all the damage. i've gone through 2 tires in the last month!Originally Posted by bostontrevor

oops, i'm not sure if you made a typo but i was actually wondering about 48x17. so the cog would be going up one so i'd imagine that would make a pretty big difference.Originally Posted by bostontrevor

Oops. Braino, I misread the first time. I would expect 48/17 to feel a bit lighter than 48/16.

BF: True, except that if one uses 48x16 this really stacks things against you, especially if you are a single footed skidder, only so much rocking the pedals is going to spread that one skid patch around.
