It would be cooler if you titled the thread: "L@@KING for Nitto..."

I'm sorry for wasting your time. I'm a jack@$$. I have no idea where to get nittos in DC, I've never even been there!

No, no, no. The only place with any track stuff in dc is citybikes on columbia in adams morgan. See Shawn. I can all but promise you he won't have any nitto drops, but he will have some mks stuff, eai cogs, clips & straps, cranks, etc. He'll also order anything you want. I mention that because he frequently uses a single order as an excuse to order five things (like maybe five pairs of drops). Just go see him.

Mt Airy Bicycles and it's sister shop College Park Bicycles. These guys always seem to have some unique stuff and are good folks. I'd give them a shot.

Chad and Larry are good guys its true. But trust me I mined out the majority of their track stuff in about 1995. They have a couple frames and maybe some old cranks on the wall, but they don't have any Nitto drops. Still, the place is like a shrine (CPB) and it is nice to go there and pray.

If the PDF of their classic/vintage inventory is accurate, they have some amazing stuff stashed away.

It'd be nice if that PDF inventory contained prices. That is a lot of bikes.

Larry has been around for over 30 years and he likes to buy neat stuff and hold onto it and wait until its vintage to sell it, and he knows what it is worth. For track they list:

TRACK Goodies
Spiff up your Courier ride or hit the boards!
FRAMES
Hubs
Cogs
Cranks
Chains
Chainwheels
Dura Ace 10
Suntour
Tubulars
Tandem track frames and Complete Bikes

I noticed the "missive from Larry" on May 3rd includes a piece about Coombe pedals. I'm happy to say that is what I ride and I agree with Larry. www.coombe.com. I ride them on both fixed and road and they are 'the' pedals as Larry would say.

That's good service. However, I hate being a tire kicker - asking questions about prices when I don't have a real strong intention of buying anything. Also, I'm more curious about what their prics are like generally than for any one specific bike.

If you don't mind sharing, what did you ask about and what were the prices like?

I don't mind sharing, but I'll PM you the pricing.

1985 Sanino Track in 59cm was my primary interest https://www.bike123.com/photo%20gallery/543.htm

I asked about two others, but they were wayyyyyyy old school museum pieces. And as for tire kicking, we're promoting their business by talking about them on a board. I'm sure they'll appreciate the extra walk ins.

Hey I am not from the area..first! I gave my input..second.. If you knew what I was saying just post" Ceya the place is College Park not TOWN..Simple! If you know what spots have them post, if not say they don't have..Simple!

I was there when NYC messengers and DC messengers used to ride to each city during the year..For us was July 4th. Last known one was 1992 first on was 1989.
