A couple weeks back, I noticed some creaking from my bottom bracket region. After I greased my chain, it seemed to disappear(maybe some grease got in there) and everything seemed solid. Alas, riding today, there seems to be give of about 1 inch when I go from backpedaling to forward motion. Does that make sense?
Now, I have neither tools nor know-how to get in there, and I cant get to a bike shop for a few days. And I gotta ride tom. and Friday. Is this dangerous? Any thoughts? Thanks

nah u will be fine, just be careful when braking by skiding if u have a brack put it on till u can get it checked out.

I agree with FS but just take it easy when doing tricky riding.

My reccomendation is not to ride AT ALL on this unless you have a brake...if there is a chance that your drivetrain could "GO"...and you have no brake...you're essentially dead..so if you're riding with a brake just be careful...and if not...put one on, or take the bus for a couple days.

Essentially dead? no way This Thread tells you all you need to know about stopping while freewheelin' with no brakes. I wouldn't suggest trying. I'd get it fixed right quick.,.. but just in case, practice the shoe stop.
