Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Well, they will definitely add some weight. Those boat anchors feature a full Velocity rim inside, per their website.

700c Clincher:
front- 1274g

rear- 1440g

It is kinda like buying two wheelsets for the price of one.

I had carbon wheels, and they were impossible to true. Aerospoke's own spec is a .020" runout- which is noticeable.

The reason I'm giving you a hard time is because I was drawn to riding fixed to escape all the carbon and unobtanium styled thinking of the road biking world- was drawn to the simplicity. Also, I think part of the reason there are so many carbon wheels for sale on ebay is because many people were a bit disappointed by them. I realize you aren't interested in them to become faster, but most people are.
