Cinelli Vigorelli 2017

Was thinking of purchasing this frame but now I'm thinking that almost 850 for a cromo frame seems a bit steep. What exactly is one paying for other than the name and the paint job?

ceelint 07-07-17 10:38 AM

It's Columbus steel, thats why... the Wabi lightning is $800 for the columbus/carbon frameset with no fancy paint job

TejanoTrackie 07-07-17 10:43 AM

Also, it has a full carbon fork, whereas the Wabi fork has an aluminum steerer.

Duop 07-07-17 10:50 AM

Thanks for the quick reply! The wabi's made from spirit tubing which I thought was perhaps a bit lighter/stiffer than the Thron but I'm having a bit of trouble finding a comparison of the two. Do you happen to have any insight on the comparison?

The Cinelli is faster

Philasteve 07-08-17 08:25 PM

A sick *** frameset.

acoustophile 07-09-17 03:03 AM

street cred.

Those C's are expensive.

As one of my co-workers calls it "shin-elley"

It looks really nice as well and hey you only are alive for one time so get yourself the nice bike with the nice paint and put some nice looking parts on it, post some pictures and let us all enjoy it.

I love my Cinelli Mash Work frame and wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy more Cinelli frames especially in steel.

Thanks! :love::love::love:

I had Moxie once, disgusting soda...was all excited for it and it was not my flavor. However Cinelli is my flavor.
You gotta spend money to make money, right?!!!

TT,

Would that make a significant difference in ride quality?

Hard to say. Probably more significant is the increased stiffness and strength of the tapered steerer tube. The point I was trying to make is that a full carbon fork is more expensive, which is one of the reasons the Vigorelli costs more. If Cinelli had put water bottle bosses on it, I would seriously consider getting one of them.

Wow. I didn't realize the frame didn't have water bottle bosses. That would be a deal-breaker for me!

Bottle bosses can be installed very easily by any competent bike mechanic.

Plus nut?

seau grateau 07-10-17 01:21 PM

The Cinelli is not made for road riding, hence the lack of bottle mounts.

How is that done out of curiosity? A drill and tap?

Only if it says MASH on it somewhere, otherwise it's completely unsuitable for coffee.

Fixie crits, and incidentally, track. Looks like it would be good for walking to Starbucks too, depending on how you build it up.

With a drill and Rivnut installer tool.

The geo on the Vigorelli screams road to me, and unless the fixie crit lasts less than 30 minutes, I think you'd want to hydrate during the race. Anyway, my Wraith has very similar geo and I take it on non-stop 2+ hour rides where I need at least 2 large water bottles, especially in the summer.

nightfly 07-11-17 08:21 AM

If you're shelling out for a Cinelli, you are most definitely not going to Starbucks.

Something local and organic with over educated barristas with lots of ink and facial hair.

Starbucks is for the Pure Fix crew.

Starbucks makes trash coffee. Just saying.
