What's a bottom bracket?!?

lol

jk

But seriously, what are some decent bottom brackets that fit 68mm English?

I quickly discovered that the GXP BB Omniums come with SUCK.

I'm pretty new to "direct drive train" related knowledge & would appreciate some guidance!!! Thanks!

68mm is the width of the BB shell and English is the threading -- both are standard, so you don't really have to worry about that. You just need a GXP compatible one. Off the top of my head I know Phil Wood makes one. Pricey but you'll probably only ever have to buy one.

They have ceramic gxp bb's for $25 on ebay. I bought one 2 months ago and it's held up fine.

So as long as "GXP" is stated in the specs, it'll be compatible? (e.g. SRAM GXP BLACKBOX CERAMIC BOTTOM BRACKET, etc.)

Yeah, pretty much. As long as it also falls into the 68mm/English threading standard. A lot of road bikes have weird sized bottom bracket shells these days. This one, for example, would not work: https://www.competitivecyclist.com/s...IZ&rec=sameCat
