Minneapolis Drunken Weekend of Riding

OK, so we have saturday and sunday covered...

But what to do about Friday night? I'd probably be down for a Saturday night style ride, hit a few bars, stop under bridges, etc. Anyone else down? I'll be working until probably about 10:30pm, and propose Palmer's as the starting point.

We have less than 48 hours to disorganize this....

Bikes: What... all of them?!?

I think I'm going to hold out for the brewery tour on Saturday. Friday is my sleeping day. 10:30 is right in the middle of my 15 hour nap.

Damn, no-one. But I found something else to do - https://www.minnbikefestival.com/MinnEvents.html - I'm going to ditch work early to drink beer and laugh at roadies as they spin around in circles for an hour

Wow what a torturous and potentially boring race to ride in!

I wished I lived in Minneapolis I would probably race it

The St. Paul leg of the race went over a section of trail that had been accumulating broken glass for 3 years. Someone finally had to clean it. I remember seeing several recreational riders fixing flats there on the first hot day of the year. Too bad they didn't race the length of the trail all they way to Randolph. Then I could have used it as a commuter route again.

It was pretty sweet - about 36 miles. I did the Saturday night ride too, and ended up with about 65 for the day, which is a lot for me. Sunday night was just NUTS. So many drunk bikes...

I'll get photos up sometime.

Didn't even hear about that. I wonder if there were more injuries from people on their way back from the tour - there were a lot of pretty unsteady people... Hope everyone is OK.

Anyways, I got photos up :

Surly Dead Brewery Tour

I don't know how she is doing. I saw her leaving the U Otter in really bad shape, and all I can say is that her friends weren't such great friends to let her try to get to the next bar. She was riding with the box from a case of beer on her head when she crashed, and was not able to say her name when emergency response vehicles arrived.
