Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Shoud I go with these new wheels?

So I was shopping and looking around for a new wheels set for the next season of track cycling and I was wandering if this would be a good choice for the price?

Ouch, any thoughts on an affordable upgrade I have basic heavy stuff. Saw wheels for about $100 on line never shopped for SS wheels before.

If you're looking for good value wheels for training and all-around use that will last a while, something like this set might be good: https://www.retro-gression.com/colle...wheelset-black I'm using essentially the same wheels on my track bike right now -- mine just have different spokes and I built them myself. Spending a little more can get you fancier hubs like Dura Ace or Phil Wood if you're into that. Velomine is a another place to check out for good deals.

If you want something more race-specific, then you might want something with deeper rims for more aero. And most serious track riders I know use tubulars rather than clinchers for racing, but I don't know if you want to dive down that hole.
