that Makino is gorgeous, love the color and component selection. if i had to nit pick think clips and straps would fit better aesthetically. but i also run platforms w/ straps, they are super comfortable so i get it.

I agree wholeheartedly that clips would work better aesthetically and I even have a nice MKS NJS pedal setup that would fit the bike perfectly, though I don't do leather and therefore I can't really install the pedals as I've found that woven straps don't hold-up for brakeless work. Clipless is also out for a number of reasons and therefore I am left with no other option than the ol' platforms n' straps

been wanting to try bullhorns for a while, and finally took the plunge when i found some for $10 at a coop (with bar tape!)
really liking them so far. much comfier than the flat bars i was using and really great for climbing and skidding

I built it around those tires. 700x40mm. Had to get the correct cog and chainring to keep the axle all the way back in the dropout. Even had to help the frame at the chain stays accommodate the tires. I had to bypass the bb threads with a threadless bottom bracket. The rear spacing was 110mm. It's a miracle I got it going. Everything was a problem I had to solve.
The more I think about it, the more I wonder why I love it. The more I ride it, the more I know I love it.

Finally got the do anything bike finished,well almost,still waiting on hoods.
Also a pic of the fixed so it doesn't feel left out.
My only regret with the Haro is that after switching to disc wheels and brakes I can't use my TRP RRL levers. Big downgrade to the Tektro RL340.
On a positive note,the Cinelli Mash tape holds up very well when being rewrapped.

Older people like ss and fixies too
Im 62, live in flat Florida and I find ss to be great for cruising around 15 to 18 mph and perfecting my pedal stroke at 75-90 ish cadence.I had a Salsa Casserole ss and just recently built an all city jyd. I tried to post it but just joined and to make 10 posts to upload pics. I really love the green King Kog. My jyd with that segmented fork and gravel king 29er x 50 tires provide a supple ride. A chromo frame with some mid level parts is a great value compared to a geared 700.00 aluminum big brand bike.

Bike3, love the white schwinn madison, its amazing how 11 sections of tubing joined together produce a rolling piece of functional industrial art. I live in S Florida which has a bike culture thats very well hidden, unlike other cities I lived in for school like Austin, and Boston. Nice to see what other enthusiasts put together, no matter what the budget is.
I used to hangout with a group of people where we had a storage locker setup like an adult version of the little rascals clubhouse, but girls were definitely allowed!
I've always worked on my own bikes and have had a dedicated bike toolbox and Park Tools clamp mounted on a custom welded tube stand. My thing is to keep my chain spotless with clean oil.
