I'd tell anyone that asked me about that to spend 20 bucks more and buy a REload civilian. Same basic dimensions, more grass roots company.

Supposedly, LLBean makes decent stuff, and they have a policy where you can always return something that breaks or if you hate it.
Still, that doesn't look like it could be a work bag.
I can't see any other straps other then the shoulder one. It would probably flop all over the place.

I am not even going to look at that link. I already know this is that messenger bag they advertise during the tour that lights up. I knew this would be posted in here. It's really lame.

Illuminex technology would be cooler as IlluminEXTREME or if it included a builtin foghorn.

"Front organizer panel holds pens, CDs, calculators and PDAs"

I always make sure there's a PDA pocket before I buy a bag, can I get ReLoad to put in a PDA pocket for me? all the messengers are doing it, charging through the streets checking they're appointments on their blackberry and PDAs.

My connection is too slow to bother with the image, so I don't know what it looks like, but I will say this - even without cycling street cred (or practicality on a bike), I'm prett sure that would be a pretty well-made bag. My whole life I've had various L.L. Bean stuff and you can pretty much just beat the crap out of it.

But in all actuality I have to agree with Fugazi on the durability of L.L. Bean bags, they last forever, and usually the only thing that ever goes wrong is the zipper, and most people don't worry about that kinda stuff with messenger bags.
So, it may not be one of the most popular names, but it is probably made well.

i'd have to third or fourth that llbean makes durable products. it's just funny that any bag with one strap is a messenger bag

Actually, I have an LLBean "messenger" bag, and it's monogrammed. Not with my initials, but to whoever "HLD" is, thanks for taking it to Goodwill.

The monogram would be really nice, because sometimes I get my messenger bag confused with my friend's messenger bags.

No stabilizer strap = garbage. Its not a messenger bag, its a giant purse.

Seriously though, LL bean stuff is decently made, but its of no use to cyclists at all. It'll just be another handy tool for identifying hipsters.

peace,
sam
