Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Ken - nice one.

I know all too well how much women can kick your ar$e. And I love them for it. I am fortunate enough to be seeing someone who commutes 12 miles daily on an SS and doesn't believe in taking any other kind of transport. My roommate and best friend rides a fixed gear and she's been riding brakeless much longer than I have. I happen to also be friends with one of the strongest (and fastest) riders I have ever ridden with (Salome) and she constantly amazes. I know a few more friends, all women, who ride day in and day out with the best of them.

I've been fortunate enough to meet two women from this forum from across the country (gilby and harlot) who ride fixed with smarts and attitude.

Women, I salute you.

I think all the love has to do with the spandex posting picture. Nothing like balls to cheer up the bike crowd on a rainy day
