Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

actually, Rivendell has no woolen shorts. Woolen other things but no shorts. I found some at:

Not a good idea. A hard, well shaped seat is better on your ass than a pillow on a post. All that padding will disappear and start to pinch your soft padding after awhile. It is like back problems caused by soft matteresses. It might sound counterintuitive, but it is the same principle that makes a Brooks work so well= a hard saddle built to fit.

BTW- chicks DIG saddlesores... especially as they fester and ooze pus! Why are you 'fraid of lycra? Stick a potato down the front if you can't fill them out properly.

www.swobostore.com

They are not quite up and running again just yet, but word around the camp fire is they will have products available after august. I have seen some of their gear from before they went out of business and it was pretty kickass. We even have a pair of NOS wool shorts at the shop where I work on the 50% off rack, but nobody around here knows what they are. So there they hang day after day, getting more and more lonely as people slowly pick off the remaining ugly last year leftovers. I would get them myself, but they are a size small, and I am well...not a size small.
