NBD Pure Fix

New bike, you do not find a large SS/fixed bike here in Cambodia but I found this used Pure Fix for $120. It is a 61cm C-T and I usually ride a 56cm C-C so it makes for a great french fit.

The chain, chainring, and freewheel were toast, the chain was elongated by 1 1/2 inches. I took off the original seat, a miss-matched pair of tires and put on a Brook's professional and some Schwalbe 700C x 35 Delta Cruiser plus tires, a set of Ultegra brakes front and rear.
I had a 45t 130BCD chain ring in my stash to replace the original 46t that was trashed by the old chain I purchased a new SS chain locally, A KMC SS.
I still need to find a 16t or 17t freewheel. The 16t fixed cog is still good. The rear sealed bearing set is a bit crunchy and should be changed.
The Headset needed a bit of tightening and that brought the fork nice and snug with no brinelling.

The bike had the original bars from Pure Fix and a single front Tektro brake controlled by a Tektro Cross interrupter brake lever. I had a nice riser bar with some Tektro brake levers, an SR riser stem along with a nice randonneur drop bar with some Shimano SLR brake levers and the original Pure Fix stem these can be swapped in a few minutes.

Anyone know what model this is?

if it’s chromoly it’s the premium series model If not it’s the original series. Is the fork a different color?

The bike is green and the fork is black with white socks.

No label telling if it is Chromoly or not. Must be an original.
Looking at the label on the downtube it says Cleveland and a quick google search shows it is in the Premium lineup.
To bad the leather bar wrap and the Brook's saddle were taken off. But I had a Brook's professional sitting around and found some bar tape that will work for now.

Doesn't look like much clearance between the rear tire and the seat tube.....could just be the angle of the photo?

Looks like a nice bike! Good luck with it.

I would keep an eye on the front tire clearance. Had a fixie conversion that would just fit a 32c under the front fork bridge. One day I heard a slight intermittent rubbing. I figured out it was the front tire slightly touching the fork bridge at one point on each revolution. The 1980s single wall rim had gone slightly out of round. I decided it wasn't a big deal and finished my ride.

About a minute after getting back to my car, the front tube exploded. All I could determine was the tire / tube heated up at that point which caused the failure. I trued the wheel and took that hump out of the rim. No further problems.

Yes, the tire clearance is tight. I lowered the tire pressure a bit and it is better. It rides real nice.
