Bikes: EAI Brassknuckle fixed Sannino fixed, Thorn Club Tour, Soma Smoothie
And ended up with a temporary single speed Rossin. The prevous owner of the frame did't tell me that the derailleur-hanger had been trashed in an accidend, and that the dropouts had been repaired by welding.
Anyway, I did'nt discover that until I tried to remove the rear wheel a week after I'd gotten it, accepted it's condition and given him positive feedback on the auction-site. Into the closet it went and I got another bike, wich after few hundred euros and kilometres turned out to be indeed too big for me. I was so frustrated I almost gave ut riding. Then my brother introduced me to clipless pedals, I had been scared off by the falling-over-stories and just used platform pedals. After riding my hybrid with them I realised I had to try them on the other bike as I have been thinking of trying SS to work on my cadence instead of just trying to go faster all the time.
I'm in love. The whole concept of zipping around on the streets concentrated only on pedaling instead of shifting really lets you enjoy the ride a lot more, I would have been laughing loudly of delight if I wasn't so short of breath.
I went the cheap way of just fixing the chain on a cog on a rear wheel I took of the bike that was too large, and removed the 50t chainwheel and replaced it with the 42t (shimano 105 double crankset, early 90's?) and cut the chain to match.
I'm getting a Surly Fixxer next time I get paid if not sooner, and maybe a set of cyclocross tires(i'm swapping the wheels for a set with Araya rims and Shimano 600 32H hubs, I am quite the clydesdale)
Edit:
Heh, I'm so worked up I forgot the pic :-P here ya go:
More bad pics here, I'll take some better later and hopefylly outside.
