Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? bb work with these?..

i'm converting my 91' bianchi brava to fixed gear and wondering if my bottom bracket will work with sugino cranks or other track cranksets. the bottom bracket is a shimano italian square taper 70mm x 107mm. it works well with my campy chorus cranks but i don't think i could get a proper chainline with these cranks if i went fixed. thanks

it should. my roommate runs a shimano 107mm spindle with a set of sugino 75s. he is rocking a 68mm bb shell, but i think he has enough clearance that 1mm on the driveside won't cause the cranks to bottom out. it'll just depend on how far out your chainstays come.

of course. iro and many others sell wheels/hubs spaced for 126mm. my gitane is 126 in the rear. i run a 109mm sugino 75 bottom bracket spindle (in french sugino cups) with sugino 75 cranks w/ 49T ring and have a perfect chainline with no issues.
