Hey all, i just happened across this. i only recently started riding fixed but I would like to come down and check out the whole racing scene. I dont know if its cool for me to come down if I don't race?

bodegabandit 07-26-05 11:06 PM

Well sure it would be. Just watch but ill bet you want to race by the end of the evening.

It'll be real informal, come on out. I might just film instead.

monkey 07-28-05 11:50 AM

Just a reminder about tonight. Hope we get a good turnout.

monkey 07-29-05 08:01 AM

Good times. Nice to see everyone. Long ride soon?

absntr 07-29-05 08:18 AM

Good times indeed. I was just reviewing some of the footage. Got all the starts and finishes except the heats I was in.

Long ride indeed. Like a Botanic Gardens or just a city ride?

pitboss 07-29-05 08:30 AM

hey - Sunday looks to be a good day for the track (hell, everyday is in my mind)...

Monkey and all others - bring that track iron on out! I will be up there from 12 until ?...join if you can! I know a few people are already planing on geting out there. Skip the gardens and hit the velo! It would be great to see more people out there.

Josh

I'll be at the track with skitbra or meeting you folks at around 3:19/3:30, when the Metra gets in. 165 - will you still be around by then or will you cut out?

monkey 07-29-05 08:43 AM

I'll be out there on Sundays starting in a few weeks when my stupid softball season ends.
Will 49 x 15 be a high enough gear? It felt like I was standing still at 46 x 15.

Ira in Chi 07-29-05 08:49 AM

Thanks Monkey, and everyone who came out. I had a great time. Any pictures?

I have photos at pie-eyed but I'll be making a short film of the sprints and starts when I get some free time, hopefully today or over the weekend.

I believe 49 will be a high enough gear. 165 rocks 50x15 so it's not that much bigger. I believe I'm going to be switching over to a 49 from a 48 soon (put the other crankset on).

pitboss 07-29-05 08:56 AM

nazer - yes, I will

monkster - hellya! most peeps i know out there train on 48/49x15 ish. I run a 50x15 out there, which is what most peeps race on. I am too cheap to change the ring out.
