Got a project back from powdercoat earlier this week, going to do some facing & chasing plus some general cleanup this weekend and hopefully have it built up by next week. Here's a few teasers ;)

Beautiful build as usual!
Details please? Posted a bit more about it over in C&V.\ Full build is as follows: 32 hole Origin8 SS1101 hubs, DT competition spokes, TB14 rims. Michelin Power Road 28mm tires I retired from my road bike. First generation Stronglight 93 pista crankset with 3/32" 48 tooth ring Shimano UN55 BB 3/32" 17t Origin8 cog (that's apparently out of round so I'll be replacing it with something a bit nicer at some point) KMC 12 speed chain Tange Falcon headset Velo Orange fillet brazed stem & temple bell Soma HWY1 bars Cane Creek SCR5 levers Dia-Compe 400 brakes with pads that desperately need replacing No-name seatpost Fabric Scoop Shallow saddle Zipp Service Course tape All in about 20.5lbs with Speedplays and a K-edge computer mount. |

No one had any recommendations in my thread on finding a set of 650c track wheels other than build them, so here they are.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...fdba0b52c2.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...15285c8c3c.jpg https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...b8a66418a2.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f1e69439e8.jpg Picked the hubs up off aliexpress, rims from the LBS, pillar spokes and wheel fanatyk nipples. Now I just need to find a decent set of tires to go with them. Hubs are cartridge bearing and feel much smoother than I expected for the price and feel solid. |
Latest update - moved back to the city so had front wheel rebuilt for a brake (reusing Phil hub with HED Belgium rim + SimWorks by Hoshi Peregrine spokes); ditched the Tyreinvader anti-pinch-flat insert and swapped Roubaix 700Cx32 for Rene Herse's new Orondo Grade 700Cx31 (++Rew10 Works hex brass presta valve cap for no gd reason at all); also swapping Brooks C17 saddle and Rindow Tarugata grips for a Fizik Tempo Aliante R3 with DMR DeathGrip Brendog flanged grips (always loved the Aliante on my original fg conversion Peugeot, and the platform pedals on this one are DMR Vault Brendog heh); and finished off with SimWorks / Nissen stainless outer brake cable + Paul Comp's polished Canti Lever, Racer Medium, and Funky Monkey Hanger...

ugh I know, was cruising the waterfront and saw opportunity for a glamorshot but am allergic to that posing influencer bs so parked n pic'd quick and didn't realize I hadn't got the drive side until I was long-gone; will rectify the mistake so I can showoff the beautiful all-Phil drivetrain :D

Came across this Look locally on Facebook during the pandemic and jumped on it thinking it's an awesome frame. Sat in storage for awhile.
Been growing on me and deciding to keep it. Also have a Samson, 3Rensho, and a few others and feel like the Look's Tange #2 is a bit beefier steel for every day riding. Excited to put some miles on this summer. https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...03b7780b27.jpg |

Going on 15 years of riding fixed and I finally got a KiloTT

Ah! Is that the one that was formerly white? It looks good. I appreciate the addition of the road fork. I'm considering the same for two of my bikes to make them a bit more useable on the road.
It looks great. Keep shredding! I've put about 100 miles on it since the rebuild and couldn't be more pleased. Want to do some cockpit adjustments since I've quickly fallen out of favor with compact drops so I'm cleaning up an old set of deep vintage drops that I'll put on in the next few days. Also this thing desperately deserves some tanwall tires, and when I end up deciding what to go with I'll get something in the 23-25mm range so I can use a bit more of the track end. Those 28mm Michelins inflate up to around 30mm! As always with a new build with vintage parts (especially the crank) I've slowly been doing more and more dynamic rides as I get more confident in the overall build. I'm a lot more comfortable doing some more climbing now, although I haven't ridden a ratio this tall in a minute so I've gotten surprised at how steep some hills feel  |
These drops are ridiculous. Better than compacts for my wrists though.

Detroit Bikes' Sparrow frame built up for randonneuring. 300km brevet action.
I thought the aluminum frame might be too harsh for distance, but with 32mm tires it's a smooth ride. |
I got this Steamroller from this thread, https://www.bikeforums.net/singlespe...rly-surly.html

Update for 70s conversion. Added black KMC 1/8" chain, 46t Rocket Ring w/110 BCDx172.5 FSA crankset as living rural more top end is needed. Everything else is the same. Without a doubt the tightest, smoothest conversion I've ever completed. It's quick, responsive, and with 35mm Kenda Street @ 100 psi very comfortable. |

70s boom bike w/a 46t Origin8 x17t generic fw. KMC chain, FSA 110 BCD 172.5 cranks, UN55 110mm bb, Alex DA22 rim, Shimano hub, flip/flop rearhub, generic rim, Milazo bag, road saddle, Zèfal pump, Truvative bar, generic grips, stock stem, Deore levers, single pivot calipers w/Shimano pads, Master u-lock. Was rough(still is lol), so I sanded the rust as well as I could and urethaned the worst. Wet sanded the frame and 3 coats of hard wax. 35mm Kenda Street tires. Smooth ride.

Still rockin’ my 1984 Raleigh Sportif, converted to SS. Still my main “whatever” bike & daily commuter. Probably in iterative reconfiguration build #50 by now?
