Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? The three founders ARE Jewish; he said they were "nasty people" - I'm questioning exactly what he meant by that comment... All clear now?

I just want to say that it's threads like this that keep me lurking on the forums throughout the day (that, and mechanical questions I have). I love how an innocent topic can degenerate into complete and udder(ly smooth) madness within the span of like 10 posts. Classic entropy. Love it.

That said, I believe the speed record bicycle without any sort of drafting is by Sam Whittingham (Canada) at 78 mph. The bike was a custom recumbent (of course) with an aero shell, named the Diablo II.

and he also makes some sweet custom frames. There are a few at my local velo.

He's on my list if I ever decide to go custom.

So wait, just because he said that the people who run the company, who happen to be Jewish, are nasty people, means he's an anti-semite? Maybe they really are nasty people, not because they're Jewish, but because they do nasty things (not that I know if they're nasty or not, just saying).

What if I said that Rush Limbaugh is nasty, does that make me anti-white-people? How about if I said that Jose Conseco is nasty, am I now anti-hispanic? I'm so sick of how casually people throw around the "anti-semite" accusation.

That's because the Democrats are too busy taking money from China.

I think if you look at the overall statistics, big buisness spreads it's money pretty evenly. As long as there is political favors to be bought, they don't care about the affiliation.

Discovery Channel did something about the bicycle and all of its variants a few years back. Taped the hour show just can't find the tape now. Had the salt flat speed record stuff on it too.

It was kind of a joke. If you'd read the thread where (member I can't recall) played the anti-semite card after somebody used the word "meshuggah", you'd get me reference

Looks like a stayer bike to me, esp. because of the gearing. Search stayer.

But that handlebar has no right to exist, let alone be seen on the net.
