Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Need some Ideas

Yeah I am working on my friends/neighbors Fuji Espree Road Bike S.S. Project 80s vintage. It got Fuji Val Lite tubing Nitto Bars and Stem, Sugino Crank. I need some ideas on front chainring..Bars...and stem. I am thinking about riser and not the classic look? Also putting a ITM Bianchi stem on it...maybe? The crucial thing is the crank! It was a ten speed....52 then 44. I really want off the 52 and leave the 44. Now should I cut the front chainring or grind it or something. See it is a bolt on...but the front isnt really...Thoughts and help! The bike below is about the same well the crank is anyways!

HAd the same cranks on a junker Raleigh, they ended up in the garbage along with the shifters and derailers!

I would go with some nice compact bullhorns and white tape. CX brake lever. White saddle. Get some nice white deep V's with white tires. Yum. I'm thinking work off the white and green of the frame and go with it. Oh and some nice white hubs with white spokes...wait that might be a little much.
