Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Don't get your panties in too much of a wad - a few posts up is a link to a post that explains all. If you'd rather whine, that's cool too, you'll fit right in.

rvabiker - sorry, I thought I made it obvious that I was making fun of myself since I am
just that guy who took his decals off his chrome pista. either way apologies

165 - I missed nothing. The BLT ride was awesome and what made it extra cool was
doing it for free as a volunteer. Really interesting to see the other side of organized
charity rides especially ones with cool radios

breaker! breaker! Birddog to scarecrow...10-4!

I forgot the 'were' in my post - sounds like a good thing. How many peeps out there? We saw two on our way north.
Were you in motion or a fixture for the volunteer aspect?

I was in motion as a "ride marshall" which is really a roving lackey. Ended up doing the
35 mile route plus about 10-20 miles of random riding. Not sure how many people ended up doing it, but I know that they had to close registration day of because they "sold out" so to speak. Definitely a lot of fun. Oh and I got a bunch of free t-shirts.
