Nashbar Moustache vs. Nitto Moustache vs.???
Over the next few months, I may trick out a bike for single speed running.
It currently has straight-ish bars on it (replaced the old road bars long time ago)
Moustache bars are new to me (and they look so cool).
Are they all created somewhat equal?
(especially if one is on a budget)
I assume Nitto quality is higher, but has anyone used the Nashbar Moustache bars (as they are nicely priced)?
or others?

Nashbar is steel and is not as rounded in the shape. Nor do the bar ends run parellel with one another. They run at an angle.
Nitto's are aluminum, so much lighter.
I have a set of Nitto and a set of On One Mungo's. The On One bar is identical to the Nitto in every way with one exception. They are standard 26.0 stem sizing to the 25.4 of the Nitto. Nitto made a 26.0 bar, but they are hard to find, so you are left with getting the sizing shims to convert the 25.4 to 26.0. Also, the On One bars are quite a bit cheaper than the Nitto's.
Hope this helps.

I don't know if Nashbars ran a couple variations on them, but the ones I have, the bar ends run parallel. Current Nittos are 26. Nashbars are 25.4.
I set the Nashbars up on an uglified old Gitane, and like 'em fine. No complaints.

I stand corrected on the Nitto sizing. Didn't realize they recently changed to the 26.0 as standard. Thanks for the catch.

well I'm getting a used Technomics stem that I might marry with the moustache bars...
So, the
stem is 26 (according to Rivbike) so I'd be smart getting a bar to fit
Oh the trials of trying to save a few bucks

nothing wrong with saving a few bucks as long as youre not sacrificing your needs. Get the 25.4 and cut up a PBR can if it satisfies your needs.

I got a nashbar one and I like it a lot. They are parallel bar ends and there is a good drop to them. I flipped them upside down and built an SS for my dad. They are heavy so if lightness is your thing then go for the Nitto.

I just bought me a pair of the Nitto's. I work at a Performance shop (Nashbar's our *****, and Supergo's their *****,) and I wish now that I had got the Nashbars, even though I got a good price on the Nittos.
The Nittos are aluminum, (lighter, better riding,) and most certainly do come in a 25.4mm, but the Nashbars won't cost you an arm and a leg, and the curve that they have actually looks quite a bit better, I opine. Moustache bars are hot in general, and if you've got the coin, maybe the Nittos are your choice. I'm very happy with them. But if you're looking to save, go N-Bar. They nice.

I've always wanted to run upside-down North Road bars. Maybe if I get one of those IRO frames...
