Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Meet and Greet in Chicago?

OK, I'm intrigued...I looked thru the stickeys and darned if I saw it. Where and when is the 'meet and greet'? I'm betting it ain't in January when the weather would be marginal, but if I can make the time and afford fuel to get there, I'd sure try to make it. Sounds like a helluva good time, and seeing them there 'painted ladies' would probably be worth the trip alone...but I haveta ask, what's a painted lady?

'painted ladies' (at least here in san francisco) are victorian and edwardian houses with ornate, colorful paintjobs.
the ones in alamo square are probably the most famous, becuase they were in some tv show, but there are lots of others. https://www.jellesen.dk/webcrea/place...b/sfalamo.html
