So, I just bought a new track frame to replace my old conversion. The conversion was a 55cm while the new frame is a 57cm. What are the chances that I will be able to swap the fork from the 55cm to the 57cm? I know I could wait the 4 days for the frame to arrive and just see if it works, but I'm at work and was curious. it all depends on the length of the head tube... you'll probably have to wait.

I sort of figured there were too many variables to take into consideration.

If its too long you can always use spacers and make it work...if its too short then you're a bit SOL.

The too short is what I'm concerned about.
If it's too long I'll just cut it down to length.

Too Short could definitely be a problem.

Assuming it is too short, which I am a feeling it will be, can anyone recommand a good, inexpensive steel 1in threaded fork - either black or chrome - other than the BikeWorks NYC one.

i'd also look into which threaded headsets have the lowest stack height. it may be cheaper to get a new headset than a new fork, if there's a lower one available.
