Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

YES, you CAN use a fg with a trainer. it works just fine as long as you are able to adjust resistance, and as long as it isnt something like a computrainer or electric thingy.

Nashbar just told me their fluid trainer will not work with track nuts and requires a quick release.

I have Kreitler rollers in my office and use my FG on it. It tucks behind my desk and take a few seconds to set up. 15-20 minutes before heading home usually does the trick if I'm feeling any stress.
It takes more concentration and balance than riding outside.
