25.4mm seatposts?

Does anybody know where to find the old style skinny seatposts?

I'm looking for a 25.4mm seatpost to replace the ugly chrome pipe that is on my conversion project. I'd like something black, or fluted 70's style, but anything decent would do.

Check at a bike shop. Most should have a cheap alloy single-bolt one for $20 or so.

25.4 is a popular BMX size.

Check danscomp.com. There is a silver alloy one on there for $12.99.

I would give you a direct link, but for some reason the site won't let me make a link.

try bikepartsetc.com, they've got some pretty good deals on any size. I managed to find a 25.0 for $15

Go to a bike shop like the Bike Club here in N.VA. It is this hole in the wall type place with tons of old bikes and parts and such.

25.4 was a common size in lesser tubing guages during the 70's bike boom. Kalloy still makes posts this size. An ebay search should reveal some, short of that, try www.biketoolsetc.com or www.aebike.com. Both carry the Kalloy posts.
