Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I’m going to start training for the MS 150 next summer. I want to ride my fixed gear so I wanted to see if there are any peps in CO that would like to train with me. And if not I’d at least like to find out what you do and where you hang out on the weekends. That is if you’d be welcomed to another avid cyclist hanging around

I'm from boulder. MS 150 sounds like it'd be sweet. Most of the weekend hanging out is done in boulder, but i'm known to hit the bars in denver from time to time...

I ride a fixie in Longmont. Lakewood's a bit far for me to go on a training ride, though.

I wouldn't know where to start on a track. I got into fixed because my mtb bike broke down on bike to work day so I started looking for a decent road bike for cheep and came across www.oldschooltrack.com and kind of got hooked on the idea of doing something that a few percentage of the population does. I ended up loving the feel and thats what got me thinking about doing the MS 150. Last weekend I went on a 45 mile trip up to golden then to denver and back to my nek of the woods.

I'm also in Boulder. Been riding fixed for about a year now. I don't know about such a long ride as the MS 150 but a shorter ride for charity might be feasible - I burn calories so fast I have to eat like 20 gu's just to keep from bonking. Barhoppin in denver sounds like a lot of fun. Hmm, that reminds me, I was planning on going down to Wynkoop & redeeming those GABF voucher thingies (Anyone do GABF this year?).

Wanted to but didn't get a chance to. I'd be game for some bar hopping. I have a couple of pretty busy weeks ahead of me so I don't know when but I'm game
