Damn. That's so damn cool. I get to ride to the goddam Starbucks down the street... (not that I actually go to Starbucks, but that's about what's out here).
|
yeah, there are three starbucks in basel, and that's with a population of 200,000. starbucks doesn't know where to draw the fukin line.
|
Seriously, you know those jokes, about standing on a corner, outside a Starbucks, and then turning around, walking accross the street to the other Starbucks?
Within a couple blocks of each other over here in Santa Barbara, there are 2 of them. It's pretty ridiculous. I can't remember the last time I went in one. Too much "hipness" for me. |

Zeitgeist? There's a "biker" bar in SF called Zeitgeist. They have bike racks and everything. I've never actually heard anyone say it though, without referring to that place.

But, you said that word makes you want to kill someone. What context would that word ever appear in?

Man. I gotta get off the forum-sauce.
He said, that the word "Zeitgeist" makes him crazy. I was curious if it's an actual like "real word" that's used sometimes. Cause I've never heard it. You're all crazy... I need a drink... |

I've heard that definition before. But do people actually say that? Like use it in sentences and crap?
Would it ever be used in a sentence, besides saying, "Hey, I'll meet you at Zeitgeist later, and we'll have a drink." ? |
Here's a made-up example:
"Don't you think that the fixed-gear revolution really captures the 'zeitgeist' of post-modern culture in urban America?" In the world of pretentious words and phrases, I would categorize "zeitgeist" a notch below "je ne sais quoi." |

Well, I went into a Starbucks today. I was with my mom, and she wanted to go. It's not my fault, I swear.

Burke If you want 500 answers, definitely write to Dennis, the maker of fixedgeargallery.com. Ask him to post the questionnaire on FGG, preferebly above the bike listings... If you can get him to do that, and you have a working HTML form, you'll get hundreds of answers a week, I think. |

Too much "hipness" for me. brand new full scale starbucks and directly across the street, there is another one in vons. at the new target that was built, there is one inside. i remember walking around SF one day and counting something absurd like 30 starbucks i saw in maybe an hour. i don't drink coffee but i heard their coffee isn't even anything to write home about. |
