Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

info on usground in boston

i just got an offer from usground in boston to be a messer. i was wondering if anyone out there knows anything about them. the post in craigslist said 100 dollars garanteed. i figured you cant go wrong with that. ive been working in DC and its a good day if i hit 100.

i know a few people who rode for usground and always seemed frustrated with the managment. its not the best company to work for but far from the worst, and with a $500/week garuantee to everyone who walks in the door you cant really complain.. especially if youre new to town. you can make more money at other places but its a good start. id say go for it

i don't know anything at all about this company, but i will say this: a messenger company that advertises on CL or in the free weekly papers for messengers is probably not a great company. i know that to be the case in NYC for a fact. good companies don't have to solicit messengers... messengers know they want to work for them. that said, if you're new to town you have to start somewhere, and a guarantee is probably a nice thing.
