Oh well. I'll start my own thread.

+1000 Yeah I love going there and just looking around. He also has a beautiful Mariposa (their in-house custom brand) pursuit bike that Michael, the owner's son rode in the '94 Commonwealth games... among many many others. Mike truly loves bikes. I bought my Lejeune frame from him and when i brought it back built up he commented that it was nice to see it loved, that it looked a lot better already (it still needed a lot of work/was still really cobbled together. It's going to be really nice soon and then I'll post some pics... Might have to start a French fixation thread :) )

Really? I've found them both to be pretty nice.

Your opinion is yours. But considering thats my only mode of transporation, then i do ride regularly. Ride a brooks Swallow at a straight angle and see if you don't slide off the front and rack yourself on the top tube. I'm still breaking it in considering i've only had it for about 4 months so it needs a slight upward angle. Also i ride that track stem to get a little more aggressive position because the frame is so large and and i find comfort in riding in a more aggressive position. Have you ever ridden true bullhorns? I find that the multiple hand positions offer a multiple riding positions.

Name it "My Sweet Track Frame Isn't British, Italian, or Keirin" so those of us with Canadian bikes have somewhere to put them.

Ha.

onetwentyeight 02-07-07 11:29 PM

north american fixation?

ryand 02-07-07 11:31 PM

Perfect!

I love this thread. Such awesome bikes.

That Mariposa would go into the NA thread as well, since that is also Canadian.

DerekRI 02-07-07 11:31 PM

Someone should really do this. And hey 128, you went blue! Nice!

Ay caramba! it's a butterfly - Mariposa means butterfly in Spanish. Or *****exual. But butterfly is better. Not that there's anything wrong...

Mariposa is pretty obscure, but seems to have quite the following among the Francophile / hobbit set.

Back to Italians (did I post this already? well, warrants another look)

There's a NA thread?

There are some sweeet Canadian bikes out there, but they're pretty rare, even up north. Canadian track bikes, other than Marinonni, are got damn rare - I can think of Cyclops, Talbot, Mariposa (mebbe), Cambio Rino, and then some modern customs like True North, Mike Truelove, Naked, and that's about it. A cdn fixation thread would be about 10 posts long. 10 lovely, lovely posts.

Moki,

Your Mariposa looks great. It looks well loved! That Dei as well, is just so classic. I love the chromed square shouldered fork.
