"Cycling Legends"
Call for Artists' Submission
Trackstar (www.trackstarnyc.com), a small community-based bike shop located in the Lower East Side of New York City, is asking for submissions from artists involving their interpretations of cycling legends. Trackstar will be hosting a not-for-profit event to help aid displaced children from the recent hurricanes. 100% of all proceeds will be divided up between multiple charities, such as The Children’s Health Fund’s Operation Assist and Save The Children. This project is open to all artists working in any Fine Arts media. Artist teams are eligible to apply, including teams of artists from multiple disciplines. Works in a variety of mediums and forms will be considered. Examples of fine arts media include, but are not limited to paintings, sculptures, illustrations, puppets, etc. Please, no artwork involving fire, water, or explosives. In addition, Trackstar has final say in regards to all artwork submitted.
++ Postmark deadline extended -- JANUARY 1! (thanks, ch0mb0)
>> Please direct all inquiries regarding your submission to: info@trackstarnyc.com or 212-982-2553.
Additional information:
Operation Assist is overseen by Irwin Redlener, M.D., president and co-founder - along with singer- songwriter Paul Simon of the Children’s Health Fund. Operation Assist is a unique collaboration between The Children's Health Fund (CHF) and Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH) to bring urgent medical care, post disaster services and advanced public health testing to the areas most devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Donations towards Save The Children help children heal and recover through structured programs including drawing, music and cooperative games and activities, and expanding its after-school programs focusing on literacy, physical activity and good health and nutrition.

I don't know any cycling legends, but I can draw Dilbert fairly well. Does he count as a cycling legend? What if I draw him in a Chico's Bail Bonds team spandex kit?
