How much do chainring bolts run?
My bike is done
But i want to take the extra chainring off, but my chainring bolts are for 2 chainrings and are too long for one. How much should i expect to pay for new bolts? I dont want anything fanct, just the basic. I'm gonna ride down to downtown Sac this weekend and stop at some shops and would like to know how much i should expect to pay for them.
Thanks
Matt

danscomp sells them for aroun $5. I had to pay $10 at an LBS, because they are jerks. Either way, a paltry sum.

I bought mine for $5 downtown, go to Bike Chef on J. Just ask for BMX bolts. Someone should have them in your area.

Bikes: Lots. Mostly steel. Mostly heavy. Mostly geared, and very low, at that.
we sell the Sugino bolts for $12 which is pretty steep. Expect something between 5-10 dollars for a basic set.

One more question:
With my freewheel on, it is about 1-2mm inboard of the chainring, so my chainline is a little off. Can any post a link to somewhere where I can purchase spacers to straighten my chainline? In case I make no sense, here a pic from Sheldon's site of what im looking for:

The black/white/grey spacers.
Thanks guys/gals

Bikes: some but not enough
The "white' ones are metal, the black ones are plastic. they are found between cogs in cheap to mid range or older cassettes. simply find an old cassette and steal them. If you really want to go cheap on the spacers and don't care too much about looks, go to a hardware store and get some washers the same size as the shanks on the "nut" side of the chainring bolts. You'll have to use 2 or 3 washers per bolt.
Question is, if you haven't seen the cassette spacers, what did you use to space your cog? a kit?

oops, just read your post again, you have a free wheel hub vice a cassette hub, the pix you posted shows a cassette hub. The LBS may have spacers for the freewheel or spacers for bottom brackets that may fit, good luck. btw IMHO 2 mm is not enough to worry about....but it is only an opinion
