Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

stripped BB threads?

Forgive me if this has been gone over before.

I remember a few posts a while back mentioning a bottom bracket not requiring threads for use after we've screwed up our bottom brackets, and there was some question as to the availability of the one mentioned.

I had a really hard time composing that sentence for some reason.

anyway, I found a place where they sell something like that. I don't need one at the moment, but if someone did, it'd be nice for them to test one of these out and tell us what they think.

they're at bike tools dot com

I remember people talking about the mavic one, and about how it wasn't available. It seems like a great idea in theory, just not the most elegant execution.
To keep a favorite frame out of the scrap pile I'd give it a shot.
