I'm about to perform the flip and chop, but I want to get new time trial levers too. Anyway, where do the cables run--if I got something like this https://www.chucksbikes.com/store/bk010.htm--do they go inside the handlebars, or does it go along the handlebars but is covered up by the bar tape?
Thanks! And if the cables do go through the tube, because I'm flipping and chopping, do I drill a hole to let the cable out somewhere near the fork?

Hrmm, I've seen a time trial style lever on track drops before (He races [obviously no brake for that], but throws on the brake to ride to/from the velodrome). I suppose it's possible it was a cyclocross lever mounted at the bar end, but I'm pretty sure it was a TT lever.

Most time trial levers, like the cheap Nashber levers on my bike, run cables outside of the bar under the tape. There are a few, like Synchros, that run the cable through the bar - if this is the case you'll need an exit hole in the bars.
The picture below is my set-up. The cable runs under the tape along the bottom of the bar.

Thanks a bunch. That's great, since I'd rather just run them under the handlebar tape (to avoid having to drill, etc.
BTW, where do the cables go into on the brake lever? For example, I'm looking at these Tektro RX 4.1 from Chucks Bikes (for about $15). Would the cable housing come from the 2 places I circled in yellow?
Thanks!!
