Regardless if we're in a stationwagon or taking the bus, I'm in for some Friday night pillaging. However, either way we won't be getting in till around midnight. You guys go to bed early?
I'm thinking on leaving early-ish on Sunday.

From: south side, you got a problem with that?
guys, i've been lurking and trying to find a way to make this happen. funds are tighter than ever since i went back on the crack pipe.

i guess i won't really know what's up until friday, but my vote is in for the cheapest option.

S_9's math adds up, surprisingly.
Even if we stuff six or seven of us in a minivan, it'll still be more expensive than the bus.
I'm on the bus, the 7:30 one on Friday night.

Bikes: some but not enough

Dudes, you are all welcomed to crash. Space will be tight, but it is cool if you are. PM me for my phone number. I am at 5th St and R St NW, the quadrant is very important, NW. The area is known as Shaw, 10 blocks from Dupont circle where the race will start. I like to think of it as the Alphabite City of DC

Map Quest for directions, or take 95 to Baltimole Washington Xpressway (295)
get off on rt 50 going west, take 50 w which is NY ave to NJ ave, turn right go to R st right on 5 st. simple as pi

If you end up on the other side of DC, the green line metro (subway) stops 3 blocks away (SHAW)

please let me know who and when, plus bring a sleeping bag or something. I'll cover the towels.

Knife, if you take the C town bus, you'll be getting off at either H st or I st and 7th NW. By the time you get in, we'll might be drunk at pirate home base (7th and NY ave ... 3 block from the bus) or totally smashed beyond reason at my place. DC is relatively simple. the capitol building is the center, numbered streets go up as you travel east and west away from the cap (like away from McDonald Ave). Letter streets go up as you go North and South (like you are traveling along Ocean pkway from church ave) away from the capitol. So for example 4st and D st have 4 possibilities, so you need to follow it with NW NE SE or SW. then there are ave named after states that run at angles ... like Bway whch gives you short cuts

EDIT: Turn left on R st then right on 5th.

House rules: no smoking in the house and shoes are left at the door.

If we run out of room, I'll try to ask the bike shop around the block (we have a pirate with a key) to let us store our bikes there. If all else fails, I have a fenced in yard that we can gang lock everything together.

Bikes: several. blue. fun.

I can also fit 1-2 people in my place if you don't mind us all sharing a room - i don't. (Maybe Friday arrivals go to PNC's and Saturday stragglers to my place?)

I'm in Adams Morgan - about 2 mi from PNC's place at 16th and Kalorama (3 blocks north of 16th & V if you'd prefer to stay on the numbers/letters grid).

We'll be up at midnight, no problem. Just give us a call.

ALSO: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: Check out the Dragon Coach or the Vamoose Bus. Both have websites. These "chinatown buses" pick up around Herald Sq or Madison Sq Garden and drop in Downtown DC. A bit more conveinent, same cost.

Alright, sign-up is closed. Right now for sure we have me, ch0mb0, msngr, and knifefight, plus the driver who I'm trying to convince to race too. I don't know how we'll fit, but we'll figure that out. I hope comfort isn't an issue with anyone. We're still waiting to see if Ellen's coming, it'd be nice to have a lady in the car to offset the testosterone...but one of us might have to ride on the roof...

Oh... and I call advanced shotgun!

so what's the housing situation? who can house us smelly bunch(odor mainly from msngr)? My friend is visiting his bro so we probably won't see him till its time to leave. So right now its four of us that needs a place to pass out... maybe a fifth? pnc, do you have room for us? or should we split up? I just need a nice corner to pass out in...nothing fancy... wood, linoleum, carpet, it's all good with me.

PNC, if you don't have room, I can offer up my place for prolly two people. Jrowe is staying with me, so two more and it'll be a full house.

Only problem is I live across the bridge in VA. (I know....ewwwwww)
