black stem/bars options?

i'm ready to start building up my new track frame that has a white/black color scheme. (pics)

i'd like to find all black components if possible, but not seeing many options for threaded stem/bar combos.
(i'm trying to keep it threaded since it's a vintage frame)
the only track drops i've found in black are the Deda Pista... but they have a clamp diameter of 31.7 and i can't find any black threaded (quill) stems that fit.

any suggestions?

sorry, no stem/bar ideas from me... just wanted to say nice frame and great photo series; you look really happy and excited in a couple of them. I love those christmas morning moments.

You won't find a threaded stem to fit oversized bars. If you're looking for track drops, I think you're SOL because the only black track drops I know of are oversized. I do have some road Dedas (maybe 215 shaw drops?). I really don't like the shape of them, actually...both too shallow and a weird angle on the top of the drops.

They're black, though. (Ooh, and I got them for a steal versus retail.)

For stems, there are a few. I've seen others, but the one that comes first to mind is the Cinelli frog. It might be a little too modern looking for that frame though.

Nashbar has a few quill style stems that are black.

Speaking of Deda, the Deda Nero quill stem comes in all black.

You have to stay classic silver with that one. It deserves to look "classic" if not, period correct.

However, if you want a black stem combo and this will completely spoil the look of this bike, you'll have to go with the Deda Pista stem and bar and use a threadless adapter.

As far as black threaded stems - look on Nashbar (who had some last time I checked), or eBay.

Oh wait - I was at Yojimbo's today - Marcus has a black threaded stem.

Big annual december sales at Yojimbo's coming up... (35% off all frames in stock, etc...)

darn it absntr, you had to lay down the tough love.

going silver was in the back of my mind actually, although i think black would look cool if it was a more modern frame. period correctness aside, seems like it will be easier to find silver parts.

i did happen upon a used set of DuraAce 165 cranks last nite. this could work out just fine.

Peter White cycles sells an out-of-production 3T Synthesis stem in black which has a more classic look than some of the black road stems at performance or nashbar. But I think he only has it in 13cm.

I think silver and black would look cool as ****! Profile makes an open face stem
that you could just get longer bolts for:

Kinda fugly IMHO. I think the Deda drops and threadless stem would look awesome, along
with a black crankset and an all black wheelset and your Raiders jacket. Off the hook!

It's not a track stem, it's a classic 1" road stem.

If you want to use the Deda Pista drops, use the Deda Pista stem which fit oversized bars just fine: https://www.businesscycles.com/tstem-deda.htm

You just have to go 1-1/8" threadless.

i'm convinced. thanks for your $0.02 everyone.

EDIT: since we're on the topic, anyone want to recommend some classic looking silver stem/bars?
my first thought would be nitto. and i'd probably want a stem with some drop.

I agree on keeping it silver, just put some black or white grips/tape on it.
